Before entering the professional world, Doug Stevenson attended Southern New Hampshire University. He then chose to continue his education by pursuing a Master of Business Administration. With a focus on international and global studies, Doug learned how to apply his finance knowledge in global business settings.
While Doug Stevenson founded Chikadee Equity LLC in Bowdoinham, Maine, in 2019, prior to that, he spent nine years investing his professional expertise in Modern Pest Services. Ranked in the top fifty largest pest control companies in the United States, Modern Pest Services has helped numerous establishments manage pest control matters. Doug worked as the Chief Financial Officer and Co-President of the company for many years, helping to manage and direct the company as it grew and expanded. During his last months at the company, he chose to stay on staff as the Interim Vice President of Finance, facilitating a smooth transition to new ownership and ensuring he was leaving the company in good hands.
When Doug Stevenson left Modern Pest Servies, he didn’t leave the financial world. Instead, he chose to pursue a new interest: private money lending. Working in this sphere, Doug helps support real estate investors by strategically offering loans to help them acquire properties. This line of work requires strategic decision-making, and understanding of real estate and local market conditions, and sound business skills. While most of Doug’s business so far has been through local real estate brokers and word-of-mouth, he is excited to start marketing to clients more directly and expand his reach.
Whether managing a team or evaluating a new lending opportunity, Doug Stevenson enjoys all aspects of working in the business. He finds great satisfaction in putting a team together and watching it perform and reach goals. Currently, he is enjoying getting to help move real estate goals forward, supporting investors and helping drive improvements and renovations in his local community. This new venture has been incredibly rewarding, and Doug looks forward to seeing how Chickadee Equity continues to grow over time.
